Postage stamps express national identity and promote national pride. Additionally, some stamps may also promote awareness of events, people, places, issues, and historic events. A stamp itself presents a special design challenge—communicating a vast amount of information into a relatively small area.
This series of five commemorative postage stamps focuses strictly on the NSA and the breach of personal privacy concerns that have arisen since Edward Snowden's original leaks in June of 2013. I had a fun time writing the copy on the stamps, and I think that the visual simplicity of each stamp helps to clearly communicate the negative implications of the agency's actions to whomever is on the receiving end of each letter.
